“Butterfly Effect” is an entirely copic marker based artwork. The concept was to draw as many butterflies as possible, exposing the beauty and colors of natural life. The yellow eyes of the main character, however, in contrast to the purple colors of her body, are meant to draw the attention to the center of the picture and make you remember there’s a person between the insects. I was inspired by the imagery of the Spring Sprite in the classical animation short film “The Firebird”, present in Disney’s Fantasia 2000.
